Situations
Makeup time offered, refused, or taken — log each one.
Missed time usually leads to a makeup day. Without a record, both parents remember the balance differently.
Log each offer and each refusal with the dates, and your running balance stays honest instead of argued.
What to log for each makeup day
- The missed time it replaces
- The original date and hours you did not get.
- What was offered
- The dates and hours, and who proposed them.
- How it was offered
- Text, email, in person, or through an attorney.
- Answer
- Accepted, refused, ignored, or a different time proposed.
- Scheduled vs actual
- What was agreed beside what truly happened.
- Hours settled
- So the balance owed goes down only when the time was really taken.
In the appMissed time → Log an exchange, then mark the hours as made up when the day is done.
Scout is free. The other parent never gets a login.
Questions parents ask
What if they offer a day that does not work?
Log the offer, log your answer, and log the alternative you proposed. A refusal reads very differently when your counter-offer is on the record.
Does the app decide how many hours I am owed?
It adds up only what you enter. Whether those hours are owed under your order is a question for your attorney.
